      IreadtheChineseversionofCamille”afewyearsago.AtthattimeIwasdeeplymovedbythemaincharacterMargueriteGautier.Camille”orTheLadyoftheCamellias”byAlexandreDumas,fils,isthestoryofMargueriteGautier,ayoungcourtesan,orkeptwoman,inParisinthemid1800"s,andhowshefallsinlovewithayoungman,ArmandDuval,andthentriestoescapefromherquestionablepast.Unfortunately,itcomesbacktohauntherandsheendsupreturningtothatlifeanddiespainfullyandalone,butwiththeknowledgethatshewasanoblewomanatheart.WhenIfirstbegantoreadthebook,IdidnotcareforMargueriteorherattitudeorlifestyle,butasIgotfurtherintothenarrative,Irealizedthathersaucyattitudewasafronttocoverthelonelywomanthatshereallywas.Shefeltused,abusedandunloved,untilthegentleArmandDuvalcameintoherlifeandshowedherthathelovedherasapersonandnotforwhatshecoulddoforhim.ItmusthavetakengreatcourageforMargueritetoleavethelifeshehadlivedforsolong,knowingallalongthatitwasprobablytoogoodtobetrueandwouldnotlastindefinitely.AnditalsoshowedthatMargueritereallylovedArmandDuvalforshecouldevenchangeherselfforhim.
